Once again, I did not plan on this being my next monthly reflections segment, but I just thought I would share my on what has helped me run my business run smoothly on land:
I built my website with this company. Its really easy to use, plenty of templates to choose from if you are stuck for ideas on how its suppose to look and the set up cost is very reasonable. The basic package is 25GB of storage, 512MB Ram, single database, single domain and SSL. For my business, I bought both the .com and .co.uk because I didn’t want my business idea being used elsewhere in the world. The best part for me was that I could embed a WordPress blog on my website that brought it to the second option on the google search page. This is your queue to then the all your friends to click on my website until its the number one option on my google page (cough yar cough).
This is the place where I do all of my bookkeeping. I can take pictures of my receipts, record invoices (which then gives you the option record them as receipts as my customers pay in advance), upload or take photos of my receipts for what goods or services I have bought for the business, you can even link your business bank account to it. It even comes with apps for your phone and the cherry on the top (I am allergic to red berries, so it would be a different food embellishment) is that this is all absolutely free. So if you are looking to set up your own business and find something that will help with keeping your books straight, just click the link below and sign up me hearty.
I never realised this until they phoned me up a month after I had purchased my first lot of promotional material, but they are a Scottish company. The reason why I say this is because for those who do not know me, I am Scottish and it was nice to have a chat with someone who could actually understand my accent. I think this company is excellent because you get really good quality printing at a very reasonable price. When I ordered my free paper samples, it arrived first class the next day. A tad unusual for posting something from Scotland to Cardiff as even with a first class stamp, it takes a bit longer to arrive. To give you an example, I ordered 1000 business cards and 1000 holistic menus for £95, bargain! A stingy persons dream yyyaaarrr!
I use this programme for keeping my consultation forms digital. This has many many more uses than what I use it for but it has saved my a ton of money on printing my forms and I also do not have the space in my flat to store them. Also, by having my forms digital, my admin is done prior to a treatment, so I don’t spend hours filling this in and I can get on with something more fun like experimenting with different slashing techniques with different types of sword blades. This is the moment when I should have switched my inner monologue off. Awkward.
I am going to be honest here hut this is the part of my business that I find most difficult about running my business, social media promotion. Why? because it takes hours of work to find interesting content to put on these pages and it drains the life of me. After you have spent all that time doing this, it hasn’t brought me tonnes of business. Also, with the combination of not having time for my ideas in this information saturated world, I find this process overwhelming, so if you have seen my Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages and it doesn’t look consistent on why I don’t post regularly as I should, now you know why. If anyone out there has any tips on how to make this part of my business engaging and organise it into my daily routine, please let me know. However, I digress. This has been a really good app to schedule in my posts and its very user friendly.
I’m really glad I got round to doing this as this has been posted late. I hope next time I will write my monthly reflections on time.
